ON THE BEACH

I like to play with silhouettes sometimes - so I shot straight into the sunlight.

Well! I am back and missed being away so long due to ill health. It was a bit of a struggle to find energy to stay on my computer and post. My daughter Lesley and her husband Robin, gave me this wonderful gift of a cruise to Alaska and Lesley and I had a whale of a time! I could just live on that ship - absolutely wanted for nothing! Hope to hear from you all! Don't know how much I can get around posting comments - so will probably have to keep them brief - but will try to get around as much as I can! Thanks to all my friends for their good wishes!

Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! I am a bit out of practice at both taking and editing decent photographs - so help me if you can!

@Still: Thank you Still! Wasn't quite sure if I'd done the right thing with it. But kinda liked it. Converted a very gold photo to B & W, then applied a Cyanotype filter which only picks up on the highlights.

@Jerry: Thanks! I wasn't sure at first if I should have just shown the orignal. But the converted B & W seems to have have worked with a Cyanotype filter applied.

I love the two figures who are right by the "shine" of the sun on the water. They seem lost in the sheer light of the sun. Awesome idea too, shoot into the sun to get everything into silhouettes.

@Michael Zhang: Thank You! Shooting into the sun is awesome! The camera meter will not always let me fire the shutter - it gets very confused by all the brilliant light and the darker areas. This time it did - with the camera on centre weighted metering. But I had to crop out the actual sun - it was enough to knock your eyes out! Tomorrow, I will post one taken with my Nkon F65 which has no metering options. Had to be exposed with manual metering.
