BURRARD BRIDGE, VANCOUVER, CANADA

Went to dentist today (my dentist happens to be my son-in-law's uncle). His office faces right onto False Creek, a man made waterway which was excavated and cleared of toxic waste etc., from industry that once sat on the land there. It fills with sea water from English Bay which is a couple of blocks to the right of this picture. English Bay was where I took my sunset photo on Easter Monday, when we all went to dinner at "Uncle David's" condo. I am posting very late - 12.56 am here. I just finished watching the Vancouver Canucks and Dallas Stars playing the Stanley Cup, first quarter final playoff game in Vancouver - the longest playoff game in the Canucks history. It went into the 4th overtime period and Vancouver finally managed to pop the winning goal into the net with 3 minutes left to go - Go Canucks Go! Yeah! Thought they were going to play all night!

Well! I am back and missed being away so long due to ill health. It was a bit of a struggle to find energy to stay on my computer and post. My daughter Lesley and her husband Robin, gave me this wonderful gift of a cruise to Alaska and Lesley and I had a whale of a time! I could just live on that ship - absolutely wanted for nothing! Hope to hear from you all! Don't know how much I can get around posting comments - so will probably have to keep them brief - but will try to get around as much as I can! Thanks to all my friends for their good wishes!

Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! I am a bit out of practice at both taking and editing decent photographs - so help me if you can!

@Jerry: Yes! I needed 2 root canals - couldn't go when my face was swollen - hurt too much to open my mouth. It was the hockey game that made me post this photo. He is dentist to the Vancouver Canucks and goes to all the games. Thanks for your comments - very encouraging. I took this and a few more on the run - my daughter was already in the truck with my granddaughter, who was hungry and tired.

Great colors in this. I like the slide on the swim platform (assuming that's what it is?). I can't help thinking that it would be a little dangerous to swim around the boat traffic though.

@Laurie: Thank you Laurie! I believe it is a swim platform - but nobody has been swimming whenever I've been down there. Looks dangerous to me too :-)

@Brittney: Thank you Brittney and your nice comments! Yes, there is lots to see and lots to do in the Vancouver area. I drove through Utah several times when I lived in Calgary, Alberta, on my way to Arizona, but then it is just Highway 15 all the way from there. Stayed over in Salt Lake City - the temple there is very beautiful.

It does have a dynamic feel to it. Love the framing and colours. And if you ask me? don't think I'd want to swim in False Creek... ick. But love that area down there to Granville!

well, I have to say that now that the Leafs are out, I am voting for Vancouver (yes it is the only thing I still hang on to from Toronto) - anyway saw the end of the game - it was pretty good - very exciting that's for sure - fans certainly got their money's worth
great shot - I particularly like the slide - although I agree with amy - I wouldn't want to go down it into that water
