As soon as light starts to go - I have to bring in my bird food - because the rats come out looking for food as soon as it gets dark! This one was more daring, he came out whilst it was still light. It's not a particularly clear shot, because what was left of the light was behind him. I was inside when I spotted him and it was shot through my patio sliding window which is double glazed, plus a fine mesh screen sliding door, outside the glass! He disappeared in a flash as soon as I pressed the shutter, they are faster than greased lightning - and run if they see or hear the slightest movement. :-(
Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! If there is anything that I can change that really needs changing and I can do it in editing - then I will change it and re-post the photo! I promise I won't scream and shout or cry for very long!

Be damned!!!! He's not near as horrible as I've been lead to believe... he's cute! Oh dear, I see the problems already. I'll be saying oh poor little thing as my husband tries to "dispose" of them. Is it a problem if the feeder is in the tree? Or are these little buggers like squirrels? Thanks Anne for showing me this... LOL And despite your hindrances for the shot it turned great!!

@amy: Amy! These little buggers were not so frightful the first time I saw one. It was really tiny, and black, and looked like a Mickey Mouse - very cute. But one night, I had not drawn my drapes, and I saw movement outside the window, out of the corner of my eye. There were five of them, really horrible big ones, on my patio table(just a bit bigger than this photo) all on top of one another to get into the food dish,. (I had put the seed up higher, thinking it wouldn't attract the rats. Well, the second I switched the patio light on - they shinned down the smooth pedestal support, underneath my table to the ground, like a flash. A couple of them jumped to the chairs But they can climb!! ;) PS. I am only seeing the same one now - so his mate must have babies in their rats nest. The young ones from the whole tribe, last year, will have gone their own way. So soon I expect, there will be a whole family of them again!!
Nice capture Anne, its difficult to catch them in action as they are real fast. You nailed this one. ;-)
