HEADING INTO THE MALL

@Laurie: Laurie: Thanks for visiting - especially when you are busy. The picture was taken on Good Friday which is a National Holiday here. I was surprised though, that it was this quiet, because the Supermarket and Zellers (a Hudson Bay Company - on a par with K-Mart) are open for shorter hours. ;-)

@Jen: Jen! It was taken on Good Friday, which is a National Holiday here. A lot of small stores are closed. The larger chains open but close earlier. I was still surprised, myself, that it was so quiet. Quite a few people in the supermarket and a few wandering around inside the mall, and in the walkways to the shops outside the mall main building. My friend Peter was at the Peach Arch Golf Course - some of the fairways and greens are close to the highway, and he said that the line-up of cars waiting to enter the United States was incredible. I heard on the news later that the waiting time was about 2½ - 3 hours long. I could think of a better way to spend good Friday than all that time in a car line up. Maybe the rest of the people went to the Beach like I did! It was packed with people in restaurants and bars on the Marine Drive (seems like most of the street is composed of restaurants, souvenir shops, dress and swimsuit shops). The Marine Drive itself was packed from end to end - I'll go down again when it isn't a holiday. Thanks for keep dropping by for a visit! ;-}
