I'm digressing from my series on the trip from Vancouver to Whistler, but I was shocked late last evening when I walked into the living room. The late local TV news was just showing a hole in this bridge's barrier rail where large truck/semi-trailer had gone through and fallen down. This shot doesn't show the whole length of the bridge, and there was no news regarding the driver etc. So must have happened quite late.
This is the same bridge that I posted going across the top of it when I started the Vancouver to Whistler trip series. Very sad and horrifying to think of a drop like that! This shot at sea level was taken earlier. :-(
Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! If there is anything that I can change that really needs changing and I can do it in editing - then I will change it and re-post the photo! I promise I won't scream and shout or cry for very long!
My other photoblog has been started too! Anne's Galleries

What a horrible thing to happen, I can't imagine that trauma...news yet on the driver?

@Lorraine: The Driver died. The accident was not on the highest part of the bridge but near the ramp to get off it. Here's a link to the article on the TV website CBC News
omg! thats awful Anne, I hope the driver survived, (perhaps he had a heart attack at the wheel, which would maybe account for loosing control! )

How terrible! I certainly hope the driver is okay. Nice shot Anne.

@Jen: No! Unfortunately not but a passenger has survived. CBC News article on their web site
That's awful! So scary. So sad for the family.
I know a couple people that are terrified of bridges and with them being in the news so much after that terrible tragic collapse, I bet they are not handling it well at all.

Really saddened to hear of this tragedy, Anne. Thank you for sharing this with us. My thoughts and prayers are with the family who have lost their dear loved one. A sobering reminder for me too, we must not take life for granted.
