I fell in love with the scenery here in this Bay. A couple of years ago something went wrong with one of the boats - it didn't slow down enough coming into the harbour. I guess the captain had to make a decision where to point it. He plowed it straight through all the small boats in the Marina and it ended up beached. There was a huge outcry and a lot of lawsuits. But I think he made the right decision here, because if he had gone straight forward into the ferry dock, all the terminal, ramps for passengers and cars which run from the highway would have come down, disrupting all ferry travel for goodness knows how long. Many people who work in Vancouver and live on the small islands depend on the ferry to get to work each day. I guess its all over now and it cost millions of dollars in settlements. The bill would have been much more humongous if the terminal had been destroyed though. Anyway, the scenery is beautiful now! :-)
Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! If there is anything that I can change that really needs changing and I can do it in editing - then I will change it and re-post the photo! I promise I won't scream and shout or cry for very long!

@Lorraine: Thank you Lorraine! My friend took me on this excursion when I had been feeling ill for a while and hadn't been out anywhere. The beauty of the trip was really soothing to the senses and I felt much better from thereon.
It looks a really beautiful place. it's hard to guess from this capture, that there is a ferry port there.

@MaryB: It is beautiful Mary! I realized from your comment that I had not gone close enough to the terminal and taken shots of it. In fact a lot of it is tucked back towards the highway, and I think I would have had to walk down the pier to angle my shot inland to grab more of the terminal. I didn't go on any long walks because I had left my friend sitting under the shade of the trees at the beach and didn't want to be away too long. However, I have made a crop of another picture so that more of the ferry terminal shows. The detail is good on the full size image but probably not as visible on the blog sized image. I have already pre-posted one for tomorrow, but will post the cropped one on the 22nd so you can maybe see a bit.
Beautiful...I can see why you fell in love with it!

@amy: Wow! This was the hottest day (except one) ever recorded in July. It was taken on July 10, not long after you were there. I'm so glad you are back - I hope you had a great time and got lots of good pics. Thanks for dropping by again - I missed you! ;-)
