Are you fed up with my mountains yet?
Here is one of the classic views of Lake Louse and Victoria Glacier
Mount Victoria is a long, very high ridge featuring two summits one km apart. Together with Mount Lefroy, it forms the backdrop to the view across the lake from the Chateau Lake Louise. The southern peak is the highest. An extensive glacier lies on the steep, eastern slopes facing Lake Louise. One has to be there in the morning to photograph it well because the sun is too high between 11:00am to about 2:00 pm and after that it is in the shade. Elevations:
Mt. Victoria 3464 metres 11365 feet Mt. Lefroy 3423 metres 11231 feet (Mountain on left - but not much of it showing in this photo)
Criticism always welcome!
Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! If there is anything that I can change that really needs changing and I can do it in editing - then I will change it and re-post the photo!
If you like my photos, please rank me on VFXY and/or vote for me in the 2008 Photoblog Awards

@Ana Lúcia: Wonderful view yes! But I have had to re-upload this photo - I had put the wrong one up which was all the wrong colour! Thank you for visiting! :-)

wow colorific shot Thank for your commnet

@hum?: Thank you for visiting - really appreciated! The colour was all wrong - I had uploaded the "wrong" version of this file which was scanned! I have put the correct one up now! :-)
I could never get fed up with mountain views, this one is spectacular.

@Richard_Irwin: Thank you Richard! The view was splendid but I had uploaded the wrong one - which should have been deleted. The shadows were much too blue and I had slipped somehow and moved a layer and then flattened it. If you care to take a peek again I think you might see the difference! That will teach me to stay up late at night when I am too tired to see straight!
I am not tired yet. I like the series, but why is there so much blue tone in this shot?

@Shuva Brata Deb: You are qute right about this Shuva! I looked at it again in dismay! The mountain pics are scanned and after uploading I noticed there were still dust spots on this one which was pre-posted. So I changed the photo and for some stupid reason (maybe too tired when I was posting) I uploaded an earlier one I had been messing about with - manipulating the highlights and shadow tones with split toning! I should have deleted that one right away. Anyway, the mountain on the left should have been mostly black because it was in the shade and the one I intended to post is posted now!
One can never get enough of natural beauty like this. Stunning!

@Ron: A stunning view yes! But the photographer was not so stunning - I had uploaded the "wrong" version of this in which I had messed the colour up amonst other things! The correct one is uploaded now! Thank you for visiting - really appreciated!
This is fabulous!!!! I love the composition and the reflections

@Jen: Thank you Jen! But I have had to re-upload it! I had posted an earlier version that I had been playing with and the colour was all wrong! The right one is up now!
I certainly am not tired of them. I need to get to Banff.

@Michael Rawluk: Hi Michael! Thanks for visiting and although it was a stunning view, I had uploaded an earlier version of the photo that I had been messing around with! Shuva and Amy noticed and so I have re-uploaded the correct version without everything all blue! If you can get to Banff ever - you should - and ask me about the different mountain roads which one can fly by on the highway. I have never been north in BC and I would think that to go north would present some beautiful photo opportunities! The furthest north I have been in BC is up to Whistler. I used to live about 50 minutes drive away from Banff!
It's classic for a reason, Anne!! Beautifully done! The sky looks great in this one and you retained the colour of the water wonderfully. But what's that weird thing happening on the left... it looks like it double scanned or wasn't stitched right?? Some of the posts I did of the open water were from this "creek". I will miss Banff when we're out on the island.

@amy: Hi Amy! Thanks for noticing. Both you and Shuva sent me scurrying to look at it again. I had taken it down to remove some more dust spots and I re-uploaded an earlier one I had been playing with highlights and shadows. The one you saw, as well has having the wrong colour on the left mountain, had also had a layer moved accidentally, and then flattened. I have no idea why it wasn't deleted right away. When I fist start on them I use Photoshop Lightroom and when I export them back to my Blog folder I had elected to have the file names in sequence - so the good one didn't overwrite the bad one! Oh dear! Well the right one is up now if you want to take another peek and let me know what you think! The lake isn't quite as saturated because the blue shadows in the split toning had made the lake bluer - but the mountain on the left (Mt. Lefroy) is black as it should be in the shade! ;-(
Beautiful, a great photo opportunity, take a look at my pics of Banff and the following photos of Canada and Alaska

@MaryB: Hi Mary! Did notice you were missing for a long time - but the problem is now sorted out and I don't feel so lonely as I did when my blog link was missing from my posts :-) Thanks for your lovely comments - always love your visits - but don't feel you have to say they are wonderful, if you notice something is wrong or could be made better! :-()

Tremendously beautiful composition and tones. I love this! May I say thank you so much too, Anne, for your long reply to my comment at your site which I'm sorry I have only just managed to read. I really do appreciate your taking the time to write amid your own time constraint too. I also appreciate your suggestions. I have pretty much accepted that mood swings are more or less inevitable in my pregnant condition at the moment, and I certainly have my share of up and down times! My health care professionals' advice is basically to try and eat well and get lots of rest, which is of course more easily said than done under current circumstances! But oh well, just am thankful we have even gotten this far, and hope to be able to keep persevering, though I've no doubt there'll still be plenty of downs with the ups! Heartfelt thank you once again for your kindness.
