BANFF NATIONAL PARK, ALBERTA, CANADA - 8

Posted by Anne (White Rock, Canada) on 24 February 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

Are you fed up with my mountains yet?

Here is one of the classic views of Lake Louse and Victoria Glacier

Mount Victoria is a long, very high ridge featuring two summits one km apart. Together with Mount Lefroy, it forms the backdrop to the view across the lake from the Chateau Lake Louise. The southern peak is the highest. An extensive glacier lies on the steep, eastern slopes facing Lake Louise. One has to be there in the morning to photograph it well because the sun is too high between 11:00am to about 2:00 pm and after that it is in the shade. Elevations:

Mt. Victoria 3464 metres 11365 feet
Mt. Lefroy 3423 metres 11231 feet (Mountain on left - but not much of it showing
in this photo)

Criticism always welcome!

Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! If there is anything that I can change that really needs changing and I can do it in editing - then I will change it and re-post the photo!

If you like my photos, please rank me on VFXY and/or vote for me in the 2008 Photoblog Awards

My other photoblog has been started - I could use a comment or two at this one too!
