COLUMBIA ICEFIELDS - BANFF NATIONAL PARK, CANADA

Posted by Anne (White Rock, Canada) on 5 March 2008 in Landscape & Rural and Portfolio.

A dismal, rainy day for the second time, when we drove by this glacier on our way to Jasper National Park in Northern Alberta.

You'll notice that the cars and vehicles are not present time - the photo was taken in the early 80's. I have left this un-cropped so you can see the scale of the glacier and tiny cars on the road at the foot of it. The perspective would have been better if I could have been there when a blue sky was beyond the glacier. The glacier used to come right down to this road - wonder how much more it has receded with global warming etc!

Many, many thanks for your visits - I have been sick for the past few days and not enough energy for posting.

Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! I am a bit out of practice at both taking and editing decent photographs - so help me if you can!
