Even though the weather here has been very cool for Springtime, in fact a lot of days downright cold - we have had lots of small birds around, especially since I got a new bird feeder to hang from my patio. This guy never managed to perch on it because the smaller chickadees came and chased him off. So now, he is content to pick at the seed dropped onto the concrete by the chicadees!
Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! If there is anything that I can change that really needs changing and I can do it in editing - then I will change it and re-post the photo! I promise I won't scream and shout or cry for very long!
My other photoblog has been started too! Anne's Galleries

@aishah: Hi aishah! Thanks for your comments. The background blur was intentional, to keep the bird the centre of attention! :-)
No complaints from me... I love the slight softness from the dof and positioning of the bird on the post. To me this is just PERFECT! P E R F E C T !!! Most happy to see you posting, Anne.. ;-)

@amy: Thanks Amy! I am still a lady-in-waiting as far as my results are concerned. I have phoned the doctor's office twice and both times they said they weren't there yet! I am going to raise hell later this afternoon, because it is now fifteen days since I had the last set done and a week before that the first time. Got my computer back and its working fine, except my Nero 7 won't launch. And you have to re-download it from their site after they send you an email with the download link - so I am waiting for that. The old set-up file doesn't work with the newer Nero programs. Thanks for your lovely comments - I am going to try and go and post a bit now - but I am expecting my friend Peter to come down and clean up my garden - so everything will stop again then!
Nice capture at an opportune moment

@Peter Miller: Hi Peter! Thanks for the comment! Opportune moment my foot! I have spent far too long at my window taking so many bird shots - they all seemed like opportune moments - but often they flew just as my shutter was firing - so I ended up taking dozens and dozens! LOL!
It's actually very wonderfully done. The way the bird's head is slightly to the side makes him look inquisitive. The background is very calming as well. I love it, well done!

@Sarah: Thank you Sarah! I actually desaturated the green in the background a little - because it was so deep colored! Thought it wasn't so distracting with a paler shade of green! :-)
Stunning capture, it's a great photo
