DAISY AND DAFFY COME TO DINNER!

5:30 pm. promptly the ducks arrive for dinner. Daisy, the female, will eat right out of my hand - but somehow I can't photograph this. Need another body to help!

Well! I am back and missed being away so long due to ill health. It was a bit of a struggle to find energy to stay on my computer and post. My daughter Lesley and her husband Robin, gave me this wonderful gift of a cruise to Alaska and Lesley and I had a whale of a time! I could just live on that ship - absolutely wanted for nothing! Hope to hear from you all! Don't know how much I can get around posting comments - so will probably have to keep them brief - but will try to get around as much as I can! Thanks to all my friends for their good wishes!

Please go ahead and give me constructive criticism where needed! I am a bit out of practice at both taking and editing decent photographs - so help me if you can!

@ManuelaR: Yes! I know! And I can't go to Europe! My doc said today that I could not fly to England for a trip home to see some things I want to photograph - my lungs wouldn't stand up to the low pressure in the cabin! They are only pressurized at most to 10,000 feet and some less. Oh dear! I did so want to see home again! I'm late posting thanks - always seem to have no time with the chemo, etc. etc., etc. but I do love your photos which I follow from Facebook link. :-)

@Laurie: So glad you came along Laurie, thank you. Haven't been getting here much as I have been on chemotherpy. Its a long story - but now I have been taken off it because I was just too weak and exhausted most of the time. The ducks are gone now. A neighbour who also loved them started putting food out in the grass, and we got a flock of half a dozen came in from another direction. Most of them were males and constantly harassing the one female. In the end I told her that these mallards have excellent eyesight and spot food in the grass as they fly overhead. So she started putting it on the path to her patio and thought that the male and femaile "pair" were my original "Daisy and Daffy". Anyway I showed her photos of the originals and the new pair - who had totally different markings - the male actually, as the females look pretty much alike. So Daisy and Daffy were driven off by the larger flock from elsewhere. I do have tons of photos of all of them though! So it was interesting for a while. The flock don't come now because she stopped putting food out I kept putting a little out near my patio window - but Daffy and Daisy never came back! (The bunnies ate the food tho' :-)
